1. Where is HCIBS located?

HCIBS is located within the campus of Hwa Chong Institution in the district of Bukit Timah. For more information on getting to HCIBS, please visit our Contact Us page.

2. What are the boarding rates?

3. How do I apply to stay at HCIBS?

The application procedure for staying in HCIBS, as well as other details pertaining to the application process, is available on our Rates page.

1. Is wireless internet available at HCIBS?

Wireless internet is available throughout the HCIBS compounds and is provided to guests free-of-charge. For wireless access, please approach the Boarding Office for the login details upon arrival.

2. Are laundry services available?

Self-service laundry facilities are provided to residents. The washing machines and clothes dryers are coin-operated and require a dollar coin each to operate.

  • Boarders: Laundrette services are also available for stay-in boarders at HCIBS. Each boarder is entitled to send up to 30 pieces of clothing for washing, and the laundrette is open for sending/collecting of laundry on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 5.30pm to 10.30pm.

  • Guests: Laundrette services may also be available to visiting guests, depending on the arrangement made by the organizers. Please check with the event coordinators to clarify.

3. What are the opening hours of the common facilities?

Common facilities (i.e. conference room, music room) are open from 8am to 10pm daily. Gym room is open from 8am to 8pm daily.

4. Are there any shops in HCIBS?

Yes. We have Cheers, the 24-hour unmanned convenience store located in HCIBS. Cheers offer a wide range of products such as daily necessities, food, drinks, and groceries for your convenience. You can make payment using your credit card or GRAB Pay via the Cheers app.

In addition, we have vending machines that provides snacks, drinks, Ready to Eat meals, etc. within the compound.

* Lunch is not provided on weekdays. Boarders would have their lunch in their school's canteen.

1. Is there a curfew?

Yes, all boarders are expected to return by 10.30pm every evening and attendance will be taken within each cluster.

2. Are boarders allowed to return later than the stipulated curfew time or travel overseas?

Yes. Boarders are required to apply for leave beforehand and collect the necessary documents from the Boarding Office at least 2 days in advance.

 

  • Overseas travel: Boarders are to follow the same leave application procedure and collect their passport together with the necessary documents.

Meals are provided to boarders. Boarders may proceed to the Dining Hall at the following timings to have their meals:
